• John Cena Praised Newcomer Immediately After WWE Title Win At WrestleMania 41

John Cena walked out of WrestleMania 41 as the new Undisputed WWE Champion, but his focus quickly turned to someone else — TNA World Champion Joe Hendry.

While appearing on Insight With Chris Van Vliet, Hendry shared a surprising moment that took place backstage just after Cena’s big win. “So he came up to me, and there’s two camera crews. They’re filming this interaction. I’m like, I can’t believe the timing that this is happening. He’s just won the championship. I say, ‘John, congrats,’” Hendry said.

Instead of talking about his victory, Cena chose to give Hendry some advice. “He didn’t even want to talk about the fact that he just became the greatest. He wanted to give me advice, that’s who John is, right?” Hendry explained.

“He just said to me, ‘I told you exactly what you needed to do at the Rumble. You’ve taken it on board. You’ve done it. You had a good performance at the Rumble. You were brilliant tonight.’ Then John walks off.”

Hendry said the interaction was unforgettable. “I hope they release this footage one day, I turned to the camera and I go, can a day get any better than this?”

Receiving praise from Cena meant a lot to him, especially after performing with Randy Orton at WrestleMania 41. “Praise doesn’t come higher,” Hendry said.

• Randy Orton Breaks Silence After His Loss To John Cena At Backlash 2025

In the main event of Backlash 2025, John Cena defeated Randy Orton to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship.

This marked the end of their iconic rivalry, as WWE promoted this match as their last one against each other.

During WWE’s Backlash vlog, Orton had the following to say about his loss to Cena:

“I really thought I was gonna go home with the Undisputed Championship. Oh God, sorry, I can’t express how much that feeling absolutely sucks.

But, that being said, well, I had my wife and my kids in the front row, I had my father and my mother up in a suite. Some friends and family scattered throughout the Enterprise Center. I saw my 8-year-old little daughter, Brooklyn, just as excited as can be, and scream.

Although I really wish I was going home with that title for the 15th time, tonight wasn’t a total loss. I got to perform in front of my family, and they got to see what I do best up close and personal.

I just wish I could have been better at the end, but I had a lot of fun out there.”
